Lemons are ones of the most beneficial fruits on the planet, and due to their countless health benefits and unique flavor and scent, they are added to various recipes.

Lemons are excellent for detoxification of the body, but when juiced, the lemon loses many of its nutrients and a great part of the medicinal potential.

Freezing lemons is a great option. The peel of the lemon strengthens the immune system, and offers numerous health properties, like regulating cholesterol, preventing cancer, treating bacterial infections, and destroying parasites and worms.

My basic diet:

-Lots of water throughout the day

-Unlimited veggies, dark green and red preferred, raw and steamed

-Protein; quinoa, lentils, black beans, chickpeas, fat free yogurt

-Seafood; steamed shrimp, crab, grilled fish, I prefer salmon

-No starches; no bread, no rice, no pasta, no white potatoes

-Excellent yummy fruit for sugar craving; grapes, mangos, watermelon, pomegranates

-Dates, prunes, dried fruit, nuts for dessert

-No sugar, except on special occasions when it is super yummy

-Small portions, use fun small dishes

-Eat slow, savor each bite

Exercise to Win

Health experts recommend that children 6 and older get 60 minutes of exercise a day. Only one-third of American kids get enough exercise daily.

Many schools, for economic reasons, do not have any physical education classes. Parents need to find more options for kids to exercise after school.

Studies have measured how far and how fast boys and girls of various ages run in 5 to 15 minutes. Today’s kids are about 15 percent less fit than their parents were at their age.

Obesity plays a role, it is harder to run or do any aerobic exercise when kids are overweight. Kids spend too much time watching television and playing video games.

Overall fitness is poor in adults and even worse in children. Together adults and children must start making more time to exercise each day to win the fight against obesity.

Exercise To Increase Your Energy

Exercising with my video allows me to stay flexible.  It is critical to have good balance with most outdoor activities.  When I sail in San Francisco Bay safety is most important.  Being in good health allows me to participate in fun outdoor activities, which creates a healthy body and mind.  When you exercise outdoors you will enjoy nature in all its glory.

Each person should remember that it is often the case that you are not only responsible for yourself, you also have others who depend on you as well.  Take charge of your lifestyle.  It is in everyone’s interest to keep your body healthy.

Eating the Right Fats

Fat provides around 34% of the energy your body needs to function during the day and help you digest and absorb important vitamins. The key is eating the right fats and balancing them appropriately. We need at least 10% of our calories to come from fat.

Monounsaturated fats are in olives, avocados and nuts. Polyunsaturated fats omega-3 foods are salmon and walnuts.

For breakfast, add flaxseed to oatmeal for an omega-3 boost. For lunch, add a salad or sandwich with avocado. For dinner, try salmon a healthy fat source.

Eating nuts reduces your risk of developing blood clots that can cause a fatal heart attack. Nuts also improve the health of the lining of your arteries.

Raw almonds, hazel nuts, peanuts, Brazil nuts, walnuts and cashews can reduce the risk of heart disease.  All nuts contain fiber, which helps lower your cholesterol. Fiber also makes you feel full, so you eat less.

Nuts may help reduce LDL cholesterol which has a heart-protective effect. Eating nuts as part of a healthy diet can be good for your heart. Nuts, which contain unsaturated fatty acids and other nutrients, are a great snack food.

People who exercise regularly with the Perfect Little Body Workout video will receive a positive boost in their mood and have lower feelings of depression.

One benefit to regular physical activity is improved self-esteem. When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain.

Most people of short stature suffer from back pain at some time.  Back pain may increase if you experience a stressful job, anxiety, being overweight, getting older and the lack of proper exercise.

Each person should understand their own physical limitations.  If possible everyone should try to avoid a sedentary lifestyle.  Just start moving more, and get outside if possible.

Understand your own personal physical potential.  Learning what is possible will help you set goals.  By establishing a regular exercise time, exercise becomes easier.

Living healthy, eating right and exercising properly will help decrease your back pain. Reaching your goals creates a happier lifestyle.

 

Learn About Detox Cleansing Foods

If you feel tired, sick, or weighed down you need to start exercising and eating right.  “The Perfect Little Body Workout” will motivate you to exercise for better health.  Start slow, try a couple exercises each day.  In time you will be able to exercise longer and feel better.

Eating right is also very important.  Food isn’t just calories.  The type of food or how you get the calories makes a difference.  Every bite we take is fuel for our body.  It is important for us to start making the connection between what we eat and how we feel.

Creating and trying new healthy recipes is my passion.  I like to steam, grill and bake raw veggies which helps me detox my body.  I often eat raw veggies though out the day in small portions.

As an example, in addition to being very healthy in general – beets, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes will also act as a cleanse to flush you out if you are feeling sluggish.

Beets are wonderfully sweet and are also said to lower blood pressure.   Brussels sprouts have high cancer-fighting properties, and sweet potatoes pack a super beta-carotene punch.

They taste great alone or with other veggies, such as ginger, which is good for your heart.

Exercise and healthy eating will also help your mental attitude and will help you to begin thinking in a more positive way.  It is all about learning ways to stay healthy.

Wake Up to Water

Everyone should start rehydrating immediately after a full night’s sleep. If possible drink at least 16 ounces of H2O as soon as you wake up in the morning. Doing this boosts metabolism by 24 percent.

A study determined that muscle cells grow faster when they’re well hydrated. A general rule, drink 2 liters or a half gallon of water a day. Drinking more water will increase your fat loss over a period of 6 months.

Also drinking lots of water throughout the day helps your entire body. You will notice your skin will be softer and your eyes will not be as dry.

Listen to your body. Drink how much you feel you need. Everyone has different activies and body sizes. For some very active people,1 gallon is a good target.

The way you know if you are drinking enough water is by your urine. If you are hydrated healthy urine is usually clear. If your urine is yellowish, then you need to increase your water intake.

Note that after taking vitamins or medications your urine will often turn yellow for a couple hours.

Remember:

2 glasses of water after waking up – helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath – helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed – avoids stroke or heart attack

Healthy Diet Tips

Small modifications to your lifestyle, like tweaking your diet, can help start the process of losing weight and becoming healthier. It is important to eat small snacks throughout the day, but also to make healthy choices.

Snacks will take the edge off, keep blood sugars stable, and prevent overeating.  Eat a snack high in fiber and include some protein. This will keep you feeling full longer. Choose small meals that are incredibly low in calories, easy to make, super filling, and they taste great. By using chopsticks you will eat slower and savor each bite. Make each serving low in sugar and fat with high fiber.

Dieting becomes easier when eating delicious foods. Herbs, both fresh and dried, give a blast of flavor to low fat cooking. Using smaller plates and bowls really does help provide a guide to the amount of food you should be eating. Colorful small dishes are positive tools to bring enjoyment to each snack and reminds us how to gauge realistic portions.
